International Trends & Services
The International Trends and Services facet works to fulfill the objectives of The Links, Incorporated by developing a greater awareness of international issues and multicultural events through personal involvement, commitment and enrichment of international concerns. Our belief is that people must be involved in the improvement and quality of their lives to strengthen linkages within the global villages, establish communities within our extended families particularly on the African continent and throughout the world.
- Vive la Casa - The Erie County Chapter adopted Vive la Casa, the largest shelter for international refugees on the U.S.-Canadian border and continues to supply financial aid and donations of personal items to the organization.
- African Waterwell (Dakar, Senegal) – Members of The Erie County Chapter of The Links, Inc. travelled to Dakar, Senegal and presented monetary donation to help build more water wells in the village.
- Dolls to South Africa – The Erie County Chapter provided hundreds of black dolls to children in South Africa.
- Clothing to Haiti – The Erie County Chapter donated clothing to the people of Haiti.
- Adopt a Family – The Erie County Chapter adopted an African family and helped them assimilate to American culture.
